Kennedy Surgery A 'Success'
Latest: U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy's cancer surgery on Monday (2Jun08) was a 'success', doctors have revealed. The ailing 76-year-old went under the knife at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina for a three-and-a-half-hour operation to remove a cancerous tumour from his brain. The Massachusetts senator's doctor, Allan Friedman, says,"I am pleased to report that Senator Kennedy's surgery was successful and accomplished our goals." "The surgery lasted roughly 3 1/2 hours and is just the first step in Senator Kennedy's treatment plan. After a brief recuperation, he will begin targeted radiation at Massachusetts General Hospital and chemotherapy treatment. I hope that everyone will join us in praying for Senator Kennedy to have an uneventful and robust recovery." Kennedy - former president John F. Kennedy's last surviving brother - was diagnosed with a malignant glioma, an especially lethal type of brain tumour, following a seizure last month .

TV presenter Cotton gives up alcohol
TV presenter Fearne Cotton has revealed that she is now teetotal having given up alcohol three months ago.
In an interview with Company magazine, the 26-year-old said: "I wasn't a big drinker before so I found it quite easy to give up completely - and now I feel bloody brilliant."
But Cotton told the magazine that she would not be changing what she eats.
"I've seen pop stars on really strict diets and you can't help but wonder how they do it. I find it so sad. I'd rather be happy and have a little pot belly than be skinny and miserable," she said.
